Activities on plant parts and their functions for elementary education - Early Childhood Education

Functions of parts of a plant:

Root: Fixes the plant to the ground. It also extracts water and mineral salts from the earth necessary for the production of the plant's food.

Stem: Supports the branches with leaves, flowers and fruits. It conducts mineral salts and water to the leaves for the production of plant food.

Leaves: Produce plant food. They use sunlight, water and carbon dioxide from the air to manufacture vegetable food.

Flowers: Flowers are responsible for plant reproduction. They are the ones who
originate the fruits.

Fruits: Contains the seeds, which will give rise to other plants. Fruits are produced by flowers.
