The spring

In May, the teacher asked the children to go out into the street at recess and bring something beautiful.

When they returned, they were showing various things and explaining them.

The first one said:

– I picked this flower because, for me, it is very beautiful.

The second, with a twinkle in her eyes, said:

– I caught this butterfly. See how your wings are colored!

The third said:

– I brought this little bird that was in its nest.

And so all the children went on. The teacher noticed that one girl had been silent.

– So you didn't bring anything?

The child, shyly, replied:

– Sorry, lady teacher. I saw the beautiful flower, but I didn't have the courage to cut it. I saw the beautiful butterfly, but I didn't want to make her a prisoner. I also saw the bird, but I preferred to leave it in the comfort of its nest. So I didn't bring anything.

The teacher concluded:

– You brought the most beautiful thing: love and respect for plants and animals.
