How will the tool work?

According to its developers, until now, the function will only allow the exchange of Toncoins without transaction fees. Such an asset occupies the 205th place of the most used cryptocurrency in the world, according to information from CoinMarketCap. Furthermore, its market cap is $2.83 billion.

“We hope that this simplification of the cryptocurrency transaction process will enable greater adoption across the world and help to incorporate blockchain payment solutions into people's daily lives," said a spokesperson for the TON Foundation in a briefing to press.

Telegram and its history with cryptocurrencies

At the end of 2019, the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) denounced the messenger after it made approximately US$ 1.7 billion through the sale of Gram tokens. At the time, the SEC even filed a complaint that the assets were not even registered.

After striking a deal in 2020, Telegram agreed to return $1.22 billion to investors. During the process, the company passed its blockchain as well as Toncoin to the code community. open The Open Network, which, since the event, seeks to dedicate itself to the development of both projects.

However, it is worth noting that, like Discord, Telegram also allows the user to create bots to automate activities. According to data from The Open Network, more than 800,000 profiles registered on Telegram have already sent Toncoins through the 'wallet' since the tool's official report.

So, for everything to work properly, the basic instruction of the developers is for the individual to install the latest version of Telegram.
