2023, the year of federal contests: more than 4,400 vacancies announced
The ABMES/Symplicity Employability index was carried out this year with almost two thousand graduates between 2020 and 2021. According to the survey, 48.82% of them had their formal occupations, 10.86% were working as self-employed or self-employed professionals, 2.77% as businessmen and 2.82% as informal workers. “These results from the first initiative of the index showed that higher education is still a great form of investment in order to guarantee the employability of trainees, with or without a pandemic”, highlighted the director president of the entity, Celso Niskier.
The study also showed which would be the areas with the greatest number of opportunities in Brazil. Professionals in the area of Information Technology are at the top of the list, with 82%, and it is possible to get a job right after graduating. In second place are Engineering courses, in which 77% of recent graduates are in the job market. Among healthcare professionals, 72% of them got a job in the area.
The survey also showed that employability among students in remote courses was the same when compared to students in face-to-face courses. According to Niskier, the search for the EAD modality will be increasing, since many people ended up adapting to this model during the pandemic period. “This survey did not measure quality, but the impact on higher education. She also showed that the job market is no longer differentiating the origin of the diploma. We know that distance learning has grown a lot before and during the pandemic, where we have research that 20% of people were already interested in online classes. Now that number has risen to 80%”, completed Celso Niskier.
