Social Tariff: electricity bill will drop in October; you have the right?

It is increasingly difficult to save some money, as bills come and take all the resources away. Now imagine being able to reduce the spending fixed monthly? With something basic like, for example, electricity bills. The value is always a surprise, as it depends on the amount of kilowatt-hours consumed in that particular month. The novelty is that it is now possible to reduce the amount charged on the electricity bill by up to 65%.

TSEE enables the reduction of electricity bills

It is through the Social Electricity Tariff (TSEE) program that the possibility of discounts on the energy bill is offered. Around 20 million families currently guarantee this benefit. The variation in the percentage of reductions depends on the number of people in the group and also on the amount of registered kWh.

According to the rules of the program, rebates change according to the consumption of each family. This means that the less you spend on electricity, the greater the final discount.

See how it works in practice and do your calculations:

• 10 discount%: consumption between 101 and 220 kWh per month;
• 40% discount: consumption between 31 and 100 kWh per month;
• 65% discount: consumption of up to 30 kWh per month.

Rebates offered to indigenous and quilombola families:

• 10% discount: consumption between 101 and 220 kWh per month;
• 40% off: consumption between 51 and 100 kWh per month;
• 100% discounts: consumption of up to 50 kWh per month.

It is worth mentioning that, if families exceed the consumption of 220 kWh per month, they will no longer receive any type of deduction in invoice amounts.

Who is entitled to join the Social Tariff?

Groups that meet all the requirements can receive the benefit:

• You must be registered in the Single Registry (CadÚnico);
• Families receiving up to half the minimum wage (R$606) per person per month;
• Families with a total monthly income of up to three minimum wages, however it is necessary to have a member who has an illness or disability that requires a device with demand for energy electrical;
• Elderly people over 65 years of age or people with disabilities (PcD) who are already beneficiaries of the Continuous Provision Benefit (BPC).
