An important point reported by many scholars is that, in different passages of the Bible, at the moment when an angel reveals himself to people, the phrase “Do not be afraid” is said.
They are divine beings created by God and are represented in many different ways and appearances in the Holy Bible.
Even appearances change according to their function and, in addition, some may have unimaginable abilities for human beings.
Angels are beings of God and appear in different passages of Scripture. In Ezekiel 1:5-9, the cherubim are narrated as:
“And in the midst of the fire there were four figures that looked like living beings. In appearance they were shaped like men, but each of them had four faces and four wings. His legs were straight; his feet were like those of a calf and shone like burnished bronze. Under their wings, on their four sides, they had human hands. The four had faces and wings, and their wings touched one another. When they moved, they walked forward and did not turn.”
In another passage of the book of the prophet Ezekiel (1:10-11), we read that “As for the appearance of their faces, the four had the face of a man, the face of a lion on the right, the face of an ox on the left, and the face of eagle. So were their faces.” Thus, the Cherubim would be the angels with human and animal appearance.
Seraphim, another class of angels, appear in more than one citation in the Bible and always have six wings. In the book of Isaiah 6:2, they are the creatures that surround the throne of God: ′′ Above him were Seraphim; each of them had six wings: with two they covered their faces, with two they covered their feet, and with two they flew.”
Lastly, other angels are considered messengers and their descriptions come a little closer to the human form, as in Luke 24:4-5:
“They were perplexed, not knowing what to do. Suddenly, two men in clothes that shone like sunlight stood beside them. Frightened, the women lowered their faces to the ground, and the men said to them: “Why are you looking for the living among the dead?”
Therefore, it is clear that the appearances of angelic beings go far beyond what we know. through the arts and they can take multiple forms, according to the records of the scriptures sacred.
