Increase in electricity in 2021

Last year, the electricity tariff in Brazil rose more than inflation. According to data released by CNN, energy accumulated around 114%, a value more than twice the inflation, which reached 48%.

The increase in energy prices is related to some factors, such as the water scarcity that affects the main hydroelectric plants in Brazil. The price of energy plus the price of fuel and high inflation directly affect the way of life of Brazilians.

Now, for 2022, the National Electric Energy Agency (Aneel) foresees an increase of around 20% in the current rate. In this way, what remains for the consumer is to look for ways to save.

Which appliances are the villains of the energy bill?

To know which appliances are the villains of the light bill, it is necessary to calculate the amount of average energy consumption. The average of this expense varies according to the time in which the device remains turned on.

To calculate, just multiply the power of the device, days of use and average hours and divide by 1000. The devices that showed the highest energy consumption were air conditioning, electric shower and electric stove.

Finally, air conditioning is one of the leaders and, if used for 8 hours a day, it is possible to increase the energy bill by around R$150.00. A very high price added to the end of the month bills.
