O Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) is offering three online courses, free of charge, for the areas of economics, business, finance and management. Classes are available in Portuguese and are focused on Latin American and Brazilian audiences.
The courses that are available are: “Project Risk Management”, “Development Project Management” and “Public-Private Partnerships for Development: Implementing Solutions in Brazil”.

Students have seven to ten weeks to complete the programs, each requiring approximately two to three hours of time per week.
The courses are offered free of charge and in order to obtain the certificate of completion, the student must pass the program with a minimum score of 65% and pay a fee of BRL 120.
The platform offers its students financial assistance for those who are unable to pay the value of the certificate, reducing the value to approximately R$12.
Those who choose to receive certification will also receive a "digital badge" which, according to the platform, facilitates the sharing of academic and professional achievements on the internet.
The courses are created based on the “self-paced” modality, which allows students greater freedom to schedule themselves to attend classes.

The priority objective is the development of problem prevention and solution skills that allow manage in advance positive and negative events focused on improving results.
The target audience are professionals from numerous areas, but mainly those who are interested in risk management, directors or project supervisors, team members, funders, public officials from national, subnational and municipalities. The program includes case study classes that allow students to apply good risk management practices learned during the course.
Its objective is to develop skills regarding best practices in the management of government projects focused on promoting social and economic development in Latin America and the Caribbean.

The focus of the course is to develop public sector professionals in areas such as infrastructure, health, education, broadband and the tax sector.
The objective is to develop analysis skills for the different planning stages of Public Private Partnerships (PPPs) projects in Brazil.
According to the course page on edX, the program will allow the identification of “benefits and risks that this type of contractual provision has for the provision of infrastructure and public services in the Country''.
