Perhaps one of the great mysteries of psychology is to discover how it is possible to shape the behavior of someone and how to have lasting changes. After all, it seems that change is a factor that depends exclusively on us, although it is so difficult. However, as much as many believe it is impossible, there is a way to facilitate the process of change.

Have you noticed that every time we decide to take some action in life we are quickly dissuaded by “voices” in our mind? Well, psychology presents these voices as automatic thoughts, the emergence of which does not depend on us.
However, it is possible to confront these voices to overcome the inertia that keeps us away from change, check out:
“You will not make it”
The first and most recurring voice when we decide to change is the one that usually says we won't make it, because we don't have enough strength or support. However, it is possible to overcome this voice by remembering that all human beings are capable of change and we have many examples of this.
“You will have time to change later”
The other voice usually tells us that there is no urgency for change, as it can happen later. However, do not believe her, as important changes need to happen as quickly as possible and there is no point in postponing.
“You have no one to help you”
This voice tends to destabilize many people, even more so because we consider fundamental support for anything. However, it is possible to change even without anyone's help, although rarely someone does not actually have any support.
“You’ve tried it before, remember?”
Perhaps this is one of the voices that most discourages you from moving forward, since it works based on “facts”. That is, you really have tried before.
In that case, you'll need to be strong enough to try again, keeping in mind that there's always time to change.
“Give up or you’ll get hurt”
In this example, we have a voice that tries to convince you that your attempt to change will be what will hurt you the most. In fact, it's inertia in the same place as always that makes us uncomfortable.
Indeed, change can be difficult, but it is certainly worth it.
“It is best to forget”
Finally, we have the voice that tries to convince you that the best thing to do is to conform to the state you are in. However, we must all strive to achieve the best version of ourselves.
