Have you ever heard of creating robotic fish made with human heart cells? This technological innovation was carried out within the laboratories of the American university of Harvard, being a totally autonomous artificial fish.
However, the intention behind this creation has nothing to do with preserving the environment or studying the waters or marine species. In fact, the experiment is intended to be effective for the treatment of cardiovascular disease. Understand.

These fish can recreate the muscle contractions that happen when the heart pumps blood. In this way, the robotic fish is intended to treat heart disease, as contractions allow it to swim. That is, this mechanism would be a kind of substitute for the well-known pacemakers, used to stimulate the contraction of the heart.
In addition, such a mechanism indicates the interest of researchers around the world in developing an artificial human heart. Therefore, this is one of the main bets to allow human beings to have a better quality of life through technology.
As already mentioned, this is a project by scientists at Harvard University, with support from experts at Emory University. In this case, the material was developed with the use of paper, plastic, gelatin and live heart muscle cells.
With the first experiments, it has already been possible to verify that these fish are capable of swimming for more than 100 days. However, it still cannot be said definitively how long these fish can continue to move.
But the next experiments should answer this question, and in fact, there are already indications that they can swim for a long time. That's because the researchers realized that the more these fish swam, the more the human cell strengthened. While this technology does not arrive, we dream of the possibility of reversing diseases such as cardiac arrhythmia and the like.
