Being regulated through the ordinance published on March 7th in the Official Gazette of the Union, the project comes into force on May 2nd. The site will be managed by the Attorney General of the National Treasury (PGFN). In its first stage, only properties will be available on the page. There are 8,430 assets registered in the PGFN collection, 223 of which cost more than BRL 30 million.
In the second stage, the site should offer goods of other types, such as vehicles, valuables, boats, aircraft and works of art. Furthermore, according to the new norms, debtor citizens will gain priority in deals for debt settlement, before their assets are put up for sale.
According to the PGFN, the new rules came to ensure the integrity of the citizen's assets. However, if there is no agreement, the goods will go directly to the platform. With this, the advertisements will be carried out by accredited brokers and auctioneers.
The goods must be disclosed through means of communication, such as specialized websites and social media. Anyone interested in buying can make an offer on the items available, including the option to pay in installments.
The ads will include the suggested price of the properties offered for sale, but interested parties will be able to make counter-proposals. In the event of legal disputes interrupting the business, the government will refund the amount paid.
Thus, to enter the platform, just register on Gov.br, the official authentication portal of the federal government.
“The expectation of the PGFN is that, in addition to contributing significantly to the increase in revenue, advancing the digitization of the public service and interoperability with the Judiciary, the platform will reduce the non-strategic work of decentralized units, which today invest time and resources in the accreditation of sellers, procedural action in cases of auctions, and transformation of payment in favor of the Union", said the Attorney.
