Who was Mohammed?

Mohammed was a prophet who was born in Mecca, present-day Saudi Arabia, in 571 AD. W. He was the founder of muslim religion It's from arab empire.

The prophet was an orphan and for a long time lived under the guardianship of his uncle, Abu-Talib, who was a tax collector and merchant. It was with him that Mohammed was initiated into the arts of commerce.

In a few years, he became experienced in carrying out caravans, accompanying his uncle to Syria. Mohammed also fought robbers and still made big decisions. Because of his honesty, the prophet came to be known as Al-Amin (the loyal).

At the age of 25, Muhammad married Kadidja, who was 15 years his senior. They had four children, but three died as children, with only Fatima surviving.

Muhammad died in Medina, Arabia, on June 8, 632.

At the age of 40, Mohammed, concerned about establishing the monotheistic religion of Abraham, went up to Mount Hira to meditate and there he had a vision of the archangel Gabriel. At that, he heard a voice that said to him: "You are the one sent by God".

From that, the prophet muhammed began to write the revelations of God and began to preach to a few people. Years later, he made public the message regarding the existence of only one god, called Allah (the adored).

Muhammad accumulated supporters and opponents. He and his followers were persecuted and had to take refuge elsewhere.

Until the city of Yathrib, located in the north of Mecca, became known as the seat of Mohammed's apostolate and the followers of the religion migrated to the place. This event marked the beginning of the islamic calendar.

Despite this, Mohammed wanted to conquer Mecca and soon declared his intention to maintain an annual pilgrimage to the place. That would be a tradition Islam.

Years later, a tribe began attacking a group of Muhammad's sympathizers. So the prophet saw this as a reason to advance on the city. He managed to seize it with an army of 10,000 men.

With that, the prophet kept the annual pilgrimage, being the city known as the Holy City of Islam.

Since 610, Mohammed wrote, in Arabic, the revelations he received from God. In the scriptures, he related his essence and relationship with human beings.

From 650 onwards, the quran, a Muslim holy book that has 114 chapters and 6,226 verses.
