iFood is facing two investigations directed at the “alleged” commercial domain of the company. The first took place in mid-2020, and the second took place in March 2022. The most recent survey concerns compliance with free market laws by benefiting the food voucher card, "iFood Benefits", leaving rivals such as, for example, Sodexo at a disadvantage and VR.

It is alleged that the platform would supposedly be helping cross-benefits between the delivery system and food vouchers, including the difficulty in using other cards. The request was made by the Brazilian Association of Employee Benefit Companies (ABBT).
With regard to the first survey, it was granted at the request of Rappi and the Brazilian Association of Bars and Restaurants (Abrasel), using the argument that there is a large application of conditions linked to exclusivity in addition to that dealt with between iFood and the restaurant chain. Therefore, this was the motivation for placing the preventive measure against the delivery company, so that they would be prevented from signing other exclusivity contracts. In addition, it will not be allowed to modify contracts already made until the end of the process.
In order to better understand the situation, the newspaper Folha de S. Paulo went looking for some companies competing with iFood, and according to them, a large amount of the market, approximately 80%, belongs to the delivery company.
The fact was consolidated when Uber Eats, considered the second main company in the segment, made the decision to withdraw from Brazilian soil in January 2022. According to information, Uber had been one of the first to request an investigation, along with the Colombian Rappi.
