Thus, according to the bill, single mothers who are heads of household will be entitled to receive, every month, the fixed amount of BRL 1,200 as a benefit.
The bill is authored by Deputy Assis Carvalho (PT/PI). Among the requirements to be entitled to permanent assistance is monthly family income per person, which cannot exceed half the minimum wage. Or even, the total income of the house cannot be greater than 3 wages.
According to the proposal, it would be a support for women who live alone with their children. The measure, already approved by the Chamber's Committee on Women's Rights, will also be voted on by other commissions, being Social Security and Family, Finance and Taxation, Constitution and Justice and Citizenship.
First of all, once it goes through all these committees, the bill still goes to the Senate. If approved, it will be sanctioned by President Jair Bolsonaro. According to the project, payment must be made through Caixa Econômica, through Caixa Tem.
If the project is approved, women who will be entitled must be over 18 years old, single, have at least one child or dependent who is a minor. In addition, they cannot have a formal job or receive benefits, such as the Brazil Aid.
Despite the forecast to pay R$ 1,200, the bill also considers that the adjustment of the value is made year by year, through the National Consumer Price Index (INPC). That is, that the benefit is readjusted according to the minimum wage.
