Why does a bee die when biting a person?

The worker bee, in charge of protecting the hive, has a stinger with small barbs, which prevents it from being easily removed from human skin. After giving the sting, the bee tries to escape. Because of the barbs, the back of the abdomen, where the stinger is located, gets stuck in the person's skin and the bee dies. By biting insects, the bee manages to remove the victim's splinters and survives.
