In 1946, after World War II, the world was introduced to the first electronic computer. Created by American scientists, the "electronic numerical integrator computer" or "ENIAC", its acronym in English, had as its main objective to calculate the trajectories of ____________ and bombs during the war.
But don't you think that the ENIAC was a keyboard attached to a screen on a table in a room – it took up an entire room! It was gigantic, heavy, and used thousands of electronic valves and switches to turn circuits on and off and carry out operations. But it was already able to perform, in 30 seconds, calculations that took 12 hours by other methods. All results were displayed through a sequence of lights that turned on and off.
