The Aral, Caspian and Negro are the largest inland saltwater tracts on the planet. They cannot be considered lakes because their waters have high salinity. The Black Sea is connected to the Mediterranean Sea by the Bosphorus Strait. A few years ago it was proven that around 5000 BC. C., he was a closed sea. The melting of the polar ice caps and the rise in the level of the oceans made the Mediterranean Sea advance over the Bosphorus channel and meet the Black Sea. The Aral and the Caspian are below sea level. The three seas could be considered lakes only if their waters were fresh.
