Since March 3rd, several functionalities have been released in the Virtual Service Center of Federal Revenue Service (e-CAC) for gold and silver level employees on the Federal Government Portal Gov.br. In this sense, taxpayers will have access to exclusive services that until then were restricted to those who had a digital certificate, which is like an electronic signature on the market.

In this perspective, the services that were released to taxpayers are: Completion and rectification of the Income Tax declaration in the e-CAC environment; Copy of the declaration and delivery receipt; Copy of transmitted files; Visualization of the receipt number; Visualization of fine mesh pending; Delivery of documents to regularize the situation at the Tax Authorities; Consultation of Individual Income Tax debts and Issuance of Tax Collection Document (Darf).
In view of this, gold and silver level employees will also have access to the pre-completed declaration regarding Income Tax in the e-CAC as of March 15th. With regard to this modality, the Revenue enables a form that obtains the data raised in declarations that were sent to the companies, financial, real estate and medical institutions, and it is the responsibility of the taxpayer to confirm this information before issuing the declaration.
These services will therefore reduce the need for citizens to go to a Revenue office to look for data relating to previous years about their declarations, according to the Federal Revenue Service. In the previous week, the Tax Authorities had increased the level of security in relation to access to the e-CAC, in order to enable that the services made available to taxpayers with a digital certificate were also provided to more users.
The deadline for submitting the 2022 Individual Income Tax return began at 8:00 am on March 7th and runs until 11:59 pm on April 29th. Shipments made outside this period will be subject to a fine of R$165.74 or 20% of the tax due, whichever is greater. The Federal Revenue estimates to receive around 34.1 million documents this year.
Access to the Gov.br account is available to all Brazilians. There are three levels of security related to profiles, namely: bronze, for less sensitive services; silver, which allows access to many digital services; and gold, which allows access to all digital services. All accounts registered with the CPF or INSS are considered bronze level.
Silver level accounts are validated through facial biometrics of the driver's license, registration Sigepe (in the case of public servants) or bank details of one of the seven banks associated with the Portal Gov.br. The gold level is validated through facial biometrics by the Electoral Justice or through a digital certificate compatible with ICP-Brasil.
