Registration for the Unified Selection System, SiSU, had been open since February 14th. This is the selection process to enter a public university in Brazil based on the scores of the National High School Exam, ENEM.
Below, see which were the states with the highest number of vacancies in the SiSU and some institutions that made them available.

In all, SISU offered, this year, a total of 226,399 vacancies throughout Brazil. However, most of the vacancies were in some states with more demand.
Thus, the five states with the most vacancies concentrated a total of 98,067 vacancies. See below which states they were:
Minas Gerais
In southeastern Brazil, we have the state of Minas Gerais, which was the state with the highest number of vacancies available, a total of 29,116. Among the institutions available for enrollment based on the ENEM score were the University Federal University of Minas Gerais, the Federal University of Juiz de Fora and the University of the State of Minas General.
Paraíba
In second place, we have a state in the northeast, Paraíba, which gathered a total of 18,888 vacancies that were concentrated in four different institutions. The institutions were: the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Paraíba, the State University of Paraíba, the Federal University of Campina Grande and the Federal University from Paraiba.
bahia
Then, we had Bahia in third place, with a total of 17,394 vacancies that were available in ten educational institutions. Among the institutions where vacancies were offered were the Federal University of Bahia, the State University of Southwest Bahia and the State University of Bahia.
Rio de Janeiro
Back to the southeast, we have the state of Rio de Janeiro, which concentrated a total of 16,847 for 16 institutions. Among them were some of the most important universities in Brazil, such as Federal University of Rio de Janeiro and the Fluminense Federal University.
Rio Grande do Sul
Finally, we have a state in the south of Brazil, Rio Grande do Sul, which offered 15,822 vacancies in 8 different institutions. The Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul and the Federal University of Santa Maria were some of these institutions.
