The latest survey by the National Agency for Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP) pointed out a drop in the value of ethanol. In 12 Brazilian states, the value was found a little lower, in some places, the fuel was kept stable and another 7 states showed an increase.
The ANP collection week took place from the 19th to the 25th of February, considering all states in Brazil, with the sole exception of Amapá, which did not have data collected by the National Agency. The drop was compared with the week before the most recent survey along with average prices over the last month.

The ANP considered that the state of Mato Grosso was the one that presented the biggest drop, reaching 2.38%, going from the average of R$ 3.36 to R$ 3.28 per liter. Tocantins, on the other hand, had the highest increase among the states, rising 2.80% and considering an average of R$ 4.40 per liter.
Even though Tocantins had a rise, Minas Gerais exhibited the highest average per liter in the entire country. The National Agency found ethanol for R$ 6.77.
The drop in value was 0.26% compared to the previous week in which the survey was conducted. It was a drop from R$ 3.80 to R$ 3.79 per liter of ethanol. For the consumer's pocket, the difference may not be as relevant as expected, so many drivers will not even notice the difference.
Compared to the monthly value, the decrease was 1.56%, considering all states, with the lowest percentage in Mato Grosso.
Fernando Haddad, Minister of Finance, announced that federal taxes on ethanol and gasoline have returned as of March 1st. A Petrobras presented a drop of R$ 0.13 in the value of gasoline, with the value of R$ 0.47 in taxes being reconsidered to R$ 0.34 for gasoline and R$ 0.02 for ethanol.
