Andes, the world of clouds

The Andes run through all of South America and are the largest mountain range in the world. There, smoking volcanoes compose the horizon of mountainous forests, which also have glaciers and deserts.

The plants and animals that live in the region are adapted to extremes: from desert heat and fine mountain air to sub-zero nights. These factors make each day the most difficult fight for the planet's survival.
