In addition to retirement, the National Institute of Social Security (INSS) also provides Brazilians with other benefits for those who are insured. And to guarantee benefits and future retirement, even unemployed, the worker can continue to contribute to the INSS.
They are those who are employed, thus performing remunerated activities and have a legal duty to make contributions with the INSS.
Among them are: workers under the CLT (Consolidation of Labor Laws) regime, self-employed contributors, special insured persons and Individual Microentrepreneurs.
Recognizes by Social Security workers who are unemployed as optional contributors. They are the ones who are not part of any remunerated activity and want to have benefits from Social Security. Among them are: housewives, students and currently unemployed workers.
They are individually responsible for the contribution to the INSS, but the contribution is optional and can be done in the normal, simplified or low-income way, directed to a Pension Guide Social.
When chosen, the unemployed person is assured of all INSS benefits and the amount of contributions remains the same for both self-employed and individual taxpayers.
Because, in the Normal Plan, the code used by the GPS (Guia da Previdência Social) will be 1406 or 1457 and the amount corresponding to 20% of the amount chosen as the base of the contribution is contracted.
Then, in the Simplified Plan, the amount to be contributed will correspond to 11% of the base amount, which in this specific case needs to be based on a minimum wage. In addition, the GPS code for this condition is used as: 1473 or 1490.
Finally, to be part of this plan, the unemployed worker must meet the following requirements: not having any income of their own or working in paid activities, being enrolled in the CadÙnico (Single Registry of Social Programs) and have a family income of a maximum of two minimum wages (amounts received for government benefits do not enter as part of the income). Well, the amount you should collect corresponds to 5% of the minimum wage and the GPS code is 1929 or 1937.
