Created in 2020 by National Congress, Emergency Aid helps 18.1 million families today. In two years, approximately R$7.3 billion were invested, so that each beneficiary receives a minimum monthly income of R$400.00. See below who is entitled to this benefit:
As soon as the Emergency Aid was implemented, only people who were not formal workers (with a formal contract) could enroll in the program. However, with the new situation experienced around the world, many people began to gain job openings. Despite this new salary, many families still depend on the aid, which created a major challenge for the Federal Government: to choose whether or not to maintain the benefit.
A Rule of Emancipation predicts that salaried workers who receive Emergency Aid transfers will be able to continue to be part of the program. However, they must meet certain requirements, see:
While the program is active, the beneficiaries will be evaluated to verify if they continue to be part of the portion of Brazilians entitled to the amounts. In the case of those who receive up to R$525 per person, the aid request may be renewed after two years, subject to government evaluation.
