Castor oil

This is a solution worth investing in to keep the rats away. This is a gentle way to keep these animals out of your home and keep all residents safe. After all, rats can transmit various diseases, right?

To make this rodent repellent recipe, you only need two ingredients: castor oil and a small amount of tap water (the same amount of oil and water in the mixture will give the effect correct).

  • First, mix the oil with a little water inside a spray bottle;
  • Then, you can apply this homemade solution to some specific points in your home, such as drains and entrances, or even in the garden.

Obs.: Always try to shake the container before applying in the desired places.

The secret to this solution is the smell of the oil, which will eventually keep mice and other rodents away from your home. Even some insects are bothered by the smell and can be repelled too.

Pepper mint

It is a tactic in the form of a home remedy to scare away mice, being very effective because of its strong smell that repels them, as they hate it.

Tip: you can use peppermint oil or fresh peppermint leaf.

  • Soak some cotton balls in peppermint oil;
  • Then, place them in glass containers and leave them open in entryways, windows, and places where you know mice appear.

Additionally, the same mint leaves can be used to make a cleaning product that naturally repels mice. To do so, just follow these guidelines:

  • Boil a mint tea;
  • Then add the liquid into a spray bottle;
  • Lastly, use it to clean areas in your home.

That way, it's easy to scare house mice with mint! However, remember to change the cottons every 3 or 4 days, so they don't lose their smell.
