In 2021, Brazilians who received emergency aid in 2020 and had total income (not counting aid) over BRL 22,847.76 had to return the benefit amount through Federal Revenue Collection Documents (Darfs). However, this will not be possible in 2022.
The Provisional Measure that created the aid had a legal provision for collection in the Income Tax. However, according to the supervisor of the IR at the Federal Revenue, José Carlos Fonseca, now there is no longer this forecast to return the resources through the Tax declaration.
Although the taxpayer does not need to return the emergency aid amounts through the IR, the Federal Revenue points out that the Ministry of Citizenship provided a space to generate a Union Collection Guide (GRU), to carry out the return of resources.
The new IR table for 2022 updates the range limit. Those who receive a salary of up to R$ 3,000 a month should pay R$ 95.20 for the current table. However, according to the new version, this value may drop to R$ 37.50, for example, and thus will continue to other ranges.
Another novelty is that there will be a 20% discount on the simplified declaration. Thus, the reduction will be for people who opt for the simple declaration, without limiting their income. However, the 20% discount will have a limit of R$ 10,563.60, whereas before it was up to R$ 16,754.34.
Anyway, the deadline to make the IR declaration in 2022 runs from March 7th to April 29th. With this, there is an estimate that the Federal Revenue will receive 34.1 million documents. So stay tuned for deadlines and don't miss the dates!
