There are some foods that, as mentioned earlier, practically never expire. We separate some of them so you can understand the reasons.
Sea salt, famous kitchen salt, is an organic food. In its manufacture, it receives addition of iodine. This process makes the durability of this food up to 5 years. But if not for that, salt could last forever.
Rice is one of the foods that practically lasts forever. This grain has the ability to keep its nutrients intact for up to 30 years. For this, quality storage is required, well sealed and at a temperature below 5 degrees.
However, it is important to note that this information is valid only for white rice. Brown rice doesn't last as long. Its natural oils, preserved during the industrialization process, make this type of rice last only 6 months.
In the case of pure bee honey, it can be stored indefinitely. What can happen, in this case, is that the honey crystallizes a little, but that doesn't mean it's expired. Just put it in a water bath and it will return to its most liquid state.
If kept in a cool, dry place and in an airtight container, sugar can last well beyond what is stated on its expiry date.
