Single Mom Trying to Find a Partner Online, Tells Her Struggles
Because of her physical appearance, Rachel Ferguson, a single mom and hairstylist, has struggled to find someone on the dating app.
Even though Rachel doesn't regret any of the art she's registered on her body, she would like people to change their mindset regarding this matter. According to her, it is common to receive messages like: “you are bad, huh?” or “Can I lick your tattoos?”.
People constantly make assumptions about her
She says she is completely uncomfortable with the assumptions people make about her. Including, all are the exact opposite of their true person. Rachel says she sleeps at 8 pm reading romance novels and wakes up at 6 am to take the kids to school.
A study says that people relate those who have tattoos as rebellious, sexually promiscuous, dangerous and less attractive.
Others shared Rachel's frustration
Other TikTok users said they know all too well what Rachel is up against. One person explained that he literally doesn't understand why people act the way they do.
She says the tattoos are art and keepsakes, but advises Rachel to rest assured that they are just people judging without really knowing her.
Another user says that if he went through situations like Rachel's, he would block the person at the first opportunity.
