Every 180 meters, the temperature decreases one degree. As these mountains are at high altitudes, temperatures at these heights are always very low. Even when the day is warmer, the snow cannot melt because the nights are so cold. Also, if the snow melts, a new layer appears. After 2,700 meters of altitude, snow on the peaks is eternal.
