To make life easier for Android cell phone users, Google had the idea of deploying some applications with a direct shortcut on the Lockscreen. In this way, instead of numerous notifications on the screen, the application could access the functions when unlocking.
This would be a partnership between Google and the Android smartphone operating system. And many users were interested in this new tool when they learned of the possible partnership that, unfortunately, did not work out.

The main objective of Google's smart screen model was to make cell phone use more practical and dynamic. Therefore, the function would leave some of the most used tools on the lock screen itself, as well as on the Always-on display.
In addition, there would be the possibility that Spotify, streaming music and podcasts, would be automatically activated when connecting the headphones. Not to mention that the contact book to make calls, Google Maps and list applications could also be made available on the lock screen.
However, despite these changes having been announced by the Android Authority, an authorized news site about the system, the partnership was not signed. So now Android users are just dreaming about this smart lock screen.
Although the reasons why the partnership did not work out were not disclosed by any of those involved, users discuss some theories. For example, this smart lock screen would involve partnering with several other apps, such as Netflix and Spotify.
Furthermore, other implications, such as privacy and security issues, must also have been considered at the time of the decision. Since, even before the mechanism went to test, the possibility of applications being triggered through accidental touches in the pockets was already being discussed. Therefore, the Google smart lock screen on Android smartphones is only in the imagination of users.
