This is because the National Institute of Social Security (INSS) has a ceiling, that is, a payment limit for retirees and pensioners. Follow the reading and find out the maximum INSS ceiling.
After an adjustment of 10.16%, the ceiling rose to 7,087.22 reais. Retirement with a high payment is not even the dream of many, but unfortunately it does not come true very often, as not everyone manages to earn such a high amount.
Each year, this value is readjusted by the National Consumer Price Index (INPC), which adjusts the power of purchase from INSS beneficiaries according to the appreciation of Brazilian products and services and their taxes.
That is, if there is a very large increase in the values of products and services in a year, the INPC will be proportionate to this increase, with the aim of ensuring that INSS beneficiaries do not lose power purchasing.
What to do to have the maximum INSS ceiling?
Initially, it is very important to clarify that the amount of workers' retirement has always been calculated based on the payment of the salary they contributed throughout their careers.
However, prior to pension reform, the lowest wages of workers were excluded from this count, but now they are all used. Once the average wage has been calculated, the benefit amount can be known. Now 60% of the average obtained plus 2% of the annual contribution is used.
Therefore, for the insured person to retire and have the maximum INSS ceiling (7,087.22 reais), the annual contribution attributed by the worker must be 20% of the maximum INSS amount allowed.
