Capitals can be carefree

Initially, the forecast is that one antenna will be placed for every 100,000 inhabitants. For this, operators have until July 2022 to implement the technology in all Brazilian capitals. According to the National Telecommunications Agency, in the case of other cities with more than 500 thousand inhabitants, the schedule is extended until July 2025.

• Until July 31, 2022: for capitals and the Federal District;
• Until July 31, 2025: for cities with more than 500 thousand inhabitants;

• Until July 31, 2026: for locations with more than 200,000 people;
• Until July 31, 2027: for municipalities with more than 100,000 inhabitants;
• Until July 31, 2028: for half of the municipalities with more than 30,000 inhabitants;
• Until July 31, 2029: for municipalities with more than 30,000 inhabitants;
• Until December 31, 2029: municipalities with less than 30,000 inhabitants.

The advantages of 5G in Brazil

According to experts, 5G should bring major changes to the country's economy. Through technology, the speed of the internet will increase a lot, which can enhance the development of artificial intelligence, data processing, information exchange and increased productivity.

Furthermore, as it is not restricted to the connection through cell phones, other domestic devices can receive major upgrades, such as cars, appliances and computers themselves. Because of this, there is a great dispute between operators to offer 5G in Brazil.

By the way, the Vivo group has the most antennas spread across the country, with around 28 thousand. Even so, the company invests heavily in the implementation of new towers, installing 98 more in February alone. In second place is Tim, with 26,658 towers.
