NAME:
Adonis, a slave, escaped from a cruel emperor and fled into the forest.
One day, he came across a lion moaning in pain because of a thorn stuck in its paw. The kind Adonis removed the thorn and bandaged the lion's paw. He took care of the lion until his paw was healed. The grateful lion shared his lair with Adonis and brought him food daily.
Shortly thereafter, both Adonis and the lion were captured by the emperor. When Adonis was led to the fighting arena, a hungry lion shot roaring towards him. To the complete amazement of the people watching, the lion knelt in front of Adonis and began to lick his hands. It was the same lion that Adonis had saved!
The emperor had never heard such a story of friendship and trust! He decreed that both Adonis and the lion would be allowed to spend the rest of their days in freedom and friendship!
