Proof of life is a very simple procedure, carried out through facial recognition by the cell phone camera. Launched by the Ministry of Economy, this option was tested in 2020, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In this way, the process seeks to speed up the process of this verification, without requiring people to leave their homes for this.
The process is very simple and you will only need to have your cell phone at hand, be it Android or iOS. To start, open Meu INSS and log in with your Gov.br account, and in the menu, look for the “Prova de Vida” option. By clicking on it, you will be directed to the Gov.br download, where you will proceed to the next steps of the tutorial.
With the Gov.br app installed, access your account and look for the “Prova de Vida” option right on the home screen. Afterwards, you will have access to pending exam orders in a list, where you must open a new page and select “Authorize”. Finally, the application will ask to perform facial recognition, which must be authorized using the camera.
Now, your image will undergo a very careful analysis, which can be accompanied by the same portal.
Basically, if the citizen does not have the biometrics registered in the Superior Electoral Court (TSE) or in the Nacional de Trânsito (DENATRAN), you will have to go to the nearest National Institute of Social Security office. However, in the case of some banks, this process can be done only with biometrics.
