NAME:
The weary travelers traveled together along a dusty road. Suddenly one of the men spotted a bag full of coins by the side of the road. He picked it up and exclaimed:
– How lucky I am! I found a full bag. It's pretty heavy and might even be full of gold! I will spend this money wisely!
His partner replied:
- Do not say! "I found a bag, how lucky I am." Instead, say "we found a bag, how lucky we are!" As friends, we have to share equally the fortunes and misfortunes of the road.
Dismayed to hear that he would have to share his find, the first man replied:
- Oh no! I spotted the bag and it's all mine!
It was then that they heard someone shouting:
- Catch the thief!
And looking around, they saw a crowd of people armed with clubs running down the road towards them.
The man who had found the bag shouted:
- We're lost if they find the bag with us! They will mistreat us and hold us responsible for the theft!
His partner replied:
- Oh no! They will find the bag with you and mistreat and hold you responsible for the theft. You refused to share the gain, now you must not share the pain.
