Recently, the president and candidate for re-election Jair Bolsonaro (PL) was in Vitória, in Espírito Santo, where he spoke again about Emergency Aid. In this case, the agenda gained a lot of space during the pandemic years and continues as the flagship of the presidential election campaign. According to Bolsonaro, it is possible to maintain the Brazil Aid of R$ 600, although the approval of the amount expires in December of this year.

“Auxílio Brasil” is the program launched by the Federal Government in an attempt to alleviate the financial difficulties of families living in poverty and extreme poverty. In addition, there is also the expectation that this investment will guarantee a return to the public coffers by heating up the economy. It is, therefore, the replacement of the “Bolsa Família” program, which became a trademark of the PT governments.
Still speaking to supporters in Vitória, Bolsonaro assured his government's concern for the assistance. Furthermore, he said that the accusation that his mandate ignores the poor is false. To prove this statement, the president cited the creation of the Emergency Aid during the pandemic and, more recently, the Brazil Aid.
It is worth remembering that the replacement of the programs also brought an increase in the value of the program. This is because Bolsa Família paid BRL 190, while Auxílio Brasil increased the amount to BRL 400. Recently, the Chamber of Deputies approved the so-called electoral PEC, which was the way the government found to circumvent fiscal rules. With that, the Brazil Aid increased to R$ 600, but the approval guarantees this amount only until December of this year.
The Government has shown efforts to carry out the distribution of social benefits. Among them are Vale-Gás, Auxílio Brasil and the recent Aid for truck drivers and taxi drivers, which came with the approval of the electoral PEC.
The approval of these benefits at current values lasts until the end of that year. In this case, there is an expectation of investment of BRL 42.2 billion in aid in 2022 alone. Of these, R$ 26 billion is destined to increase the value of the Brazil Aid.
