President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva celebrated the resumption of the Brasil Sorridente program on his Twitter account. The oral health policy will bring back the dignity of many Brazilians who suffered from toothaches and food limitations.

Completing the package of social programs referenced in past administrations, the federal government will resume the Brasil Sorridente, an oral health program created during President Lula's first term in 2004.
On Saturday (6), the president celebrated the return of the program and stated that all the public policies that worked in his administrations would be put into operation again.
The sanction of the bill, which includes the National Oral Health Policy in the Organic Health Law, will guarantee universal, equitable and continuous access. More than 80 million people have been assisted by the program in the last ten years, according to data from the Ministry of Health.
Through Brasil Sorridente – National Oral Health Policy, millions of Brazilians have free access to dental services through the Unified Health System (SUS). These services are offered in Family Health Units (USF)/Health Posts, Mobile Dental Units (UOM), Dental Specialty Centers (CEO) and hospitals.
In addition, the program has Regional Dental Prosthesis Laboratories (LRPD) that collaborate with the laboratory manufacture of dental prostheses, providing support to USF, UOM and CEO.
