An important thinker in his field, he pioneered the notion that children's intellectual development occurs as a function of social interactions and living conditions. He came to be discovered by Western academics many years after his death, which occurred in 1934, from tuberculosis, at the age of 37.
Lev Semionovich Vygotsky was born on November 17, 1896, in Orsha, Belarus.
VYgotsky who studied the first letters with private tutors. In 1911, at age 15, he enters a school for the first time. In 1913 he finished secondary school and entered the University of Moscow, studying law. Next year Vygotsky he starts taking classes at Shanyavskii People's University, driven by his interest in history and philosophy. He also starts to become interested in literature, and in parallel with his law course Vygotsky analyzes Shakespeare's “The tragedy of Hamlet, Prince of Denmark”.

Only in 1920 is the suspicion of tuberculosis, which had been raised five years earlier, confirmed. With this news he returned to Moscow in 1924, where he became the founder of the Soviet School of Psychology, developing studies in the field of art psychology. this same year Vygotsky holds a conference at the II Leningrad Psychoneurology Congress, where he spreads his ideas. He begins his work at the Institute of Psychology at the invitation of Kornilov in Moscow.
His book Psicologia da Arte, written in 1925, was not published as it was censored by the Stalinist government. So he starts the Psychology Laboratory for Disabled Children. Four years later, the laboratory became an Institute, and became the Scientific Institute for Research on Disability after his death.
at 37 years old Vygotsky dies on June 11, 1934. This year, his book Pensamento e Língua, in the USSR, is published. And only in 1962 is it published in the United States. In Brazil the first published work of Vygotsky was 'The Social Formation of the Mind' in 1984
