Feature film brings drama about country music singer
Directed by Alberto Araújo, the feature film “Vazio Coração” tells the drama of the famous country music singer Hugo Kari (Murilo Rosa) to regain the trust of his father, ambassador Mário Menezes (Othon Bastos), who does not accept the professional choice of son.
With songs of confessional tone, in which he puts out his afflictions, Hugo reached success and is at the peak of his career. There's money, sold out shows, thousands of fans. But despite all his professional achievement, his affective life has a dark and forgotten side.
About to retire, the ambassador is convinced that he never wants to talk to his son again. It is up to Hugo's wife (Larissa Maciel) to help her husband in the challenge of winning back his father's love.
The singer and his wife take a break from the tour in order to meet Mário at the Grande Hotel Termas de Araxá, where the family spent vacations when Hugo was a child. In that place of strong memories for both, father and son try to piece together the puzzle of a relationship fragmented by conflicting ideals and dreams. And for a tragic event that had marked them forever.
Filmed in the cities of Araxá and Patrocínio, in Minas Gerais, “Vazio Coração” is the debut feature film by director Alberto Araújo. The national production won the awards for Best Film and Best Actor (Murilo Rosa) at the 26th edition of the Christmas Film Festival (RN), in 2013.
