Artificial intelligence is a recurring topic in the news in recent years. We hear more and more about ChatGPT, of AI programs capable of creating art, enhancing photos and even creating images.
This novelty has already reached the world of cartoons, as fans and enthusiasts already use the technology to create AI versions of characters, such as the case that occurred with Goku, the protagonist of the famous cartoon “Dragon Ball”.
The art was made by the Curioso Mundo portal, which used the MidJourney program to create a realistic appearance for Goku. Many fans liked the result of the work, which brought a very believable look to the character.
Art with another Dragon Ball character
Goku wasn't the only cartoon character to get his AI-transformed version. Another character, Vegeta, also very famous, won an art with a realistic look, made by the same program, MidJourney.
What is MidJourney?
MidJourney is an art creation tool based on artificial intelligence. The platform is open for use, requiring no invitation or payment, with its beta version having been made available to the public in July 2022.
The tool is able to translate images into text using algorithms, with the third generation being able to create high quality images. The application is used within the platform Discord and the creator of MidJourney responded when asked about the reason for this decision.
David Holz for the The Verge:
“A lot of people ask us, why don't you make an iOS app that creates an image for you? But people want to do things together, and if you do that on iOS, you have to create your own social network. And that's really hard. So if you want your own social experience Discord is really great.”
