Based on an analysis of the number of delays that occurred in the month of May, with more than 821 thousand requests, the senator Telmário Mota (PROS-RR) elaborated a proposal that has the objective of reducing delays on the part of the INSS. According to him, these delays harm the lives of the beneficiaries, but the agency does not suffer any consequences.
Therefore, it is necessary that there is a change in the law so that an effective change in the payment period takes place. The law in force obliges the first payment of the maternity salary within 45 days after the request in cases maid, special insured, individual taxpayer, independent worker and insured unemployed.
The new text, however, intends to reduce this period to a maximum of 30 days. It has already been approved by the Commission on Women's Rights, but still needs to be evaluated by the Commission on Constitution, Justice and Citizenship.
