Apparently, the updated model of the car will be called DeLorean EVolved. In addition, a video was released that shows the silhouette of the new car with its well-known doors that open upwards. However, no release date has been announced yet.
Therefore, what remains for us is to keep an eye on any movement on the social networks of the DMC automaker for new first-hand information regarding the launch of the new version of the famous DeLorean, now Evolved.
Of Irish origin, the DeLorean DMC-12 was manufactured in October 1978 in Dunmurry. The first versions were only ready in mid-1981, however, serious finishing defects were noticed that needed correction before being distributed to dealerships.
In addition to the delay that this setback entailed, the European automobile market was in a severe recession at the time. The automaker had expected to sell between 10,000 and 12,000 cars, but only six thousand units were sold, causing several losses to the company that expected a greater number of sales.
Thus, the last example of this emblematic vehicle was produced in 1982, three years before the premiere of the first film in the “Back to the Future” trilogy. However, after appearing in theaters as a time machine, the DeLorean regained prestige and became a popular model in the 1980s.
In addition, the founder of the company, also called DeLorean, died in 2005. However, another manufacturer bought the rights to the name and model of the DMC-12.
