5G has been taking short steps in Brazil, but on 11/04/21 the auction held by Anatel (National Telecommunications Agency) took place. This auction defined who will have the right to exploit the technology. However, this is only one of the steps for the implementation of 5G to occur throughout the national territory. The expectation is that it will only be available in the middle of 2022.

5G is the evolution of 4G, which is the existing technology. Through them, generations have brought more connection, stability, download speed, coverage and quality. However, this new generation has an absurd technological leap compared to the previous one. This offers a connection with infinite possibilities and transmitted over a radio spectrum, allowing more devices to have quality access at the same time.
Based on experts, it is possible that with 5G more than a million devices are connected per square meter. The real proposal is to have a greater connection between literally everything, such as cell phones, computers, cars, refrigerators, TVs, security cameras, smart home, among others.
Comparing the new 5G with its 4G predecessor, we can note its connection speed as a point of difference: on average, the 4G connection is 45 Mbps (megabit per second) while that of 5G has the expected connection of 1 Mbps (gigabit per second which is equal to 1,024 Mbps) becoming twenty times more powerful than its predecessor.
This connection has already been put to the test by South Koreans who downloaded a game with more than two gigabits – using 5G technology – and it took less than two minutes to download, proving the network's better effectiveness against its predecessors.
In 65 countries, 5G technology has been a reality for some time and because of this, the telephone industry has been developing cell phones capable of using 100% of this technology, making it possible to find models from last year that accept 5G.
Therefore, due to the greater market acceptance of this technology, it will be accessible to the population, who will not need to have a large investment in more expensive cell phones.
