Last Wednesday (5), the Civil Police of Rio de Janeiro arrested a 25-year-old man accused of sending messages threats to students of the Federal Rural University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRRJ) in Seropédica, in the Baixada Fluminense. The suspect is a student at the university and was arrested preventively by the team of the 48th Police Station of Seropédica.
The investigation began after the police received information and analysis of threatening messages that circulated on social networks, containing racist, homophobic, sexist and sexual violence content. In some of them, the author said that “he would commit a massacre in the coming days”. The police began an intelligence operation, which led to the identification and arrest of the accused.

The man confessed to the crime and is being investigated for racial injury, threat and illegal possession of a firearm. The university issued a statement stating that it is taking the necessary administrative steps to deal with the case.
