In recent weeks, Petrobras announced a new readjustment in the sale price of diesel at gas stations. Now, fuel had a reduction of 8.8% in the value per liter, but the value of gasoline and liquefied gas remains the same. Because of this, it has been weighing heavily on the pockets of drivers around Brazil.
Recently, even the singer Gusttavo Lima went viral for disclosing his indignation and surprise at the price of gasoline. According to Petrobras, the company has been following market prices, but the rise in these values has been accompanying the global balance.
The process is still in progress and under analysis in the Chamber of Deputies, but the project seeks to reach professional drivers and families who are already part of some social problems. As a result, families with a per capita income of R$ 2,424 will also be included. Soon, professional drivers who earn less than two minimum wages will be included in the benefit.
In this case, taxi drivers, school van drivers, truck drivers and app drivers are the main targets for assistance. In fact, the monthly amount of BRL 250 must be updated every six months based on inflation and variation in the average fuel price, similar to what happens with other benefits, such as Gas aid.
Its regulation must be made by the Executive Branch, where its implementation is scheduled for October 31, 2022, after the second round of presidential elections. This is because granting benefits is prohibited during the election year. However, the process still needs to be analyzed by the Security, Social and Family, Constitution and Justice, Citizenship and also Finance and Taxation committees.
