As for updating aspects, it is important to be careful not to be left behind and guarantee the right to old-age retirement. So what are these updates? How to secure retirement by age in 2022?
It's also important to know what the rules were for the previous year to make sure you meet the requirements to receive the benefit. Thus, in 2021, the criteria required before the Social Security Reform (until 11/12/2019) determined that they could apply for retirement by age:
For updates, it is worth considering both the Social Security rules to ensure retirement, as well as the transition rules that came into force after the reform.
The transition rules were created so that the worker who had started to contribute to the INSS, and who did not fit in all the criteria determined by Social Security before the reform, it wasn't too harmed by the new rules.
Previously, it was necessary for women to be at least 56 years old and 30 years old with contributions, while men had to be 61 years old and 35 years old with contributions. By transition rules, 6 months are added each year to the minimum age, until reaching 62 years (female) and 65 years (male). Therefore, the minimum age for women in 2022 is 57 years and 6 months, while for men it is 62 years and 6 months.

Finally, in 2022, women will need 89 points to access retirement, while men will need 99 points.
