According to the apple, a “small fraction” of iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro units built between October 2020 and April 2021 have sound issues making these two devices eligible for repair and service free.
The current scheme, according to Apple, covers the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro devices for two years after their first retail sale. If your iPhone 12 or 12 Pro is experiencing sound issues, you can get it fixed for free.

According to Apple's support site, some iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro units may experience sound issues as a result of "a component" in the receiver module. The company advises that any other damage that may influence the repair, such as a cracked screen, must be addressed before service.
Additionally, in rare cases of special repair, consumers may be required to pay a fee. In this scenario, it's best to check if your iPhone is still covered by the manufacturer's warranty.
To check warranty status, customers must first locate the product serial number under Settings > General > About.
Then go to checkcoverage.apple.com and fill out the form with information such as your serial number and special code.
Then choose an Apple Authorized Service Provider near you and schedule an appointment for a phone check-up. The current free repair program does not extend the standard iPhone 12 or iPhone 12 Pro warranty, according to the company.
Apple did not report the exact number of smartphones affected by sound issues, but additional information is expected from the company soon.
