Can you visualize the cubes in motion?

Optical illusions are back on social media. The cool thing about them is that, in addition to being a fun pastime, they are still a way to exercise your brain to deal with different everyday situations. The optical illusion of cubes

Optical illusions are intended precisely to touch parts of your brain and cause certain doubt from observation. Generally they tend to circumvent reality and leave the brain confused. The central idea is to simplify the vision with the use of images and lines, challenging the vision, in order to lead the brain's coordination to believe in something that in reality is not exactly what is seen. It's basically proof that appearances can be deceiving.

In this optical illusion that you see in the image, the cubes appear to move, but in reality none of them are moving. But, the play of light present and the drawn lines give this impression. The sharing of the image started with a Japanese Twitter user known as “jagarikin”. After that, the illusion was so much to talk about on Twitter that even Elon Musk shared it, imagine how viral it is! But after all, in fact the image is really intriguing and seems to mean that there is movement going on.

What's behind the illusion?

This illusion is known to be related to the brain's cognition, as it distorts the observer's view of reality itself. For a German doctor, Herman Herlbortz, this illusion is related to the assumptions we have about the world and this can reflect on the way we see it.
