Registration must be done in groups of three to six people. Each team must be proportionally composed, being allowed from two to four students and one or two leaders per group. In addition, two professors can guide the teams during the development of the project. At the end, all participants will receive a certificate.
For the managing partner of Ideias do Futuro, Oswaldo Cruz, the program is an incentive for the continuity of studies during the period of family isolation and also a way to increase interaction between families. According to him, students receive complementary training that helps in the formation of entrepreneurial and socio-emotional characteristics, differentials in the professional life of this student.
The groups must choose between the Free Technology categories (for those who already have knowledge in programming) or App Inventor (for those who are going to learn the process of programming apps).
Throughout the four stages of the program, the teams will have didactic materials and activities to be delivered within a specified period.
O Startup in School program takes place since 2015, this being the sixth consecutive year. The main novelties of this edition are the integration of parents and teachers and the participation of elementary school students.
Another big change was the format of the show. Traditionally, the course has a competition format, in which participants carry out face-to-face activities at the school. Because of the new coronavirus pandemic, the stages will be done at home, but there will still be a trail to be followed, like a game.
Finally, all participants will receive a certificate of completion and feedback from experts in the field to improve their ideas. Previously, this was only done with the finalists who obtained the highest score.
