With that, it seems that the system was not also developed for elderly clients, as if they did not have right to the ATM.
It was precisely for this reason that Carlos San Juan, 78 years old, decided to open a petition on the internet two months ago. Thus, the demand is for banks to offer easier and more practical service, as many elderly people are unable to fully use the ATM.

Soon after, the petition began to receive many signatures, which demonstrates that not only Carlos had already noticed this difficulty. However, he took the first step in search of a situation that is more dignified for the elderly.
The case took place in Spain, where the petition had great repercussions and collected more than 600,000 signatures. However, the noise did not stop there, as the matter was brought to the agenda at the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation.
In addition, Minister Nadia Calviño herself made a point of talking about the matter to reporters on the street. These attitudes created an expectation among citizens, who are already beginning to demand measures from the Spanish government. Thus, it is expected that the state will be in charge of creating a protocol backed by law and guaranteeing the right to an ATM.
There was no way not to give in to popular pressure, so the banking sector sent the government a document requested by Calviño. In it, the sector proposes a protocol for improving care for the elderly, which consists of offering quick responses.
However, the document did not please everyone, since it is a voluntary measure, with no guarantee of full compliance. Even so, he brings interesting suggestions, such as extending the hours of service to this public, and even creating preferential agencies.
