Recently, parliamentarians analyzed issues related to oral health as one of the conditions of the Auxílio Brasil program. Bill (PL) 1015/2022 aims to amend current Law 14,284/2021 to include oral health monitoring in program requirements. That said, according to the proposal, beneficiaries need to be up to date with this care to continue receiving their aid. Check out more information about the new proposal.

To guarantee the value that is currently offered, the benefits of Law No. 14,284/2021 require beneficiaries to present to the government prenatal care, adherence to vaccination schedules, monitoring of children's nutritional status and school attendance.
As participants now need to adhere to and comply with certain standards, oral health monitoring would become just another prerequisite if this project is actually approved.
The new project, proposed by Senator Plínio Valério (PSDB-AM), is the result of a recommendation by the Ombudsman made by Manaus resident Greice da Silva Garcia. She made this complaint and also a suggestion through the e-Citizenship Portal.
According to the senator, the idea is that those responsible take the children to the dentist and other professionals in that department early on. When this rule is established, it will help to reduce the incidence of cavities, oral diseases and early tooth loss.
In addition, he also argued that children could receive ongoing care, dental treatment and oral hygiene instruction from the first year of life, if available to consult a health professional oral.
With this, it is expected that the demand for dental services will increase, thus reducing the occurrence of serious health problems due to poor oral hygiene and lack of follow-up.
